Telstra to offer HTC LTE phone in H1 2012

HTC will be the first cellphone vendor with an LTE (Long Term Evolution, latest standard in the mobile network technology) phone in the Australian market when Telstra launches the first LTE (Long Term Evolution, latest standard in the mobile network technology) capable handset for its At once G network in the first half of 2012. Speculation that it will be the HTC Holiday is way off the mark.

The HTC device has been dubbed temporarily the 'HTC 4G'. It will be an Android device with a dual core processor, 4.5 inch screen and 8 megapixel camera. Telstra CEO David Thodey said it would be " the first of many 4G handheld devices that are set to launch now the new Telstra 4G network is live in Australia."

ZDNet claimed the device was the HTC Holiday, nevertheless that is not possible. Though the Holiday is an LTE device it operates only on LTE at 700MHz.
