Lighthouse Security Group to Participate in Expert Panel Sponsored by IBM on Social Media

Lighthouse Security Group, LLC, is participating in a virtual panel discussion sponsored by IBM addressing key security issues and trends in social media, mobility and the cloud. The virtual panel will be moderated by Derek Brink, Vice President and Innovation Fellow for IT Security, Aberdeen Group, and will feature Jim Reavis, Executive Director of the Cloud Security Alliance. Eric Z. Maass, Chief Innovation Officer, Lighthouse Security Group, Marc V. Zadelhoff, Director of Strategy, IBM Security Solutions, and Latha Maripuri, Director, IBM Security Services will round out the all-star expert panel.

Organizations taking advantage of social media, mobility and cloud-based computing should plan to join this powerful panel discussion on October 18, 2011, at 11:00 am EDT. The panel discussion will be followed by individual breakout presentations covering specific security and compliance risks, proven solutions designed to address those risks, and lessons learned from organizations that have solved these problems.

The panel discussion

In addition to participating in the panel discussion, Maass will present on identity and access management trends in the midmarket space. Exactly, Maass will address the security and IAM challenges associated with the growing array of IT assets located outside the company-controlled network.

"Cloud-based solutions, social networks and mobile devices are difficult to manage with traditional IAM platforms. Just in case, midmarket firms tend to have a broader reliance upon external partnerships for growing their businesses," said Maass. "How do you drive efficiency, security and compliance when you are taking advantage of these diverse external resources? A cloud-based IAM system is a natural fit for bringing this new world at the same time."

The Lighthouse Gateway cloud-based IAM solution addresses many of the challenges associated with mapping IAM policies, processes and best practices to external IT assets, helping organizations reduce costs, become more agile, support compliance and provide intelligence to support decision-making and business process improvement. Based upon IBM Tivoli IAM software, Lighthouse Gateway delivers the power of a comprehensive IAM platform with the lower cost of ownership, agility, simple usability and quick time-to-deployment of a cloud solution.
