EMC keeps data moving
EMC plans to use its presence at Cloud Confex to promote its latest innovations in data storage. The vendor says its solutions will help businesses in the Middle East to design, build and manage secure information infrastructures suitable for use in Cloud applications.
"GITEX Techology Week is an important regional forum that attracts the IT decision makers from the different industries and various organisations," says Mohammed Amin, Senior VP and Regional Manager, EMC Turkey, Emerging Africa and Middle East. "EMC is participating in the Cloud Confex to demonstrate its leadership in Cloud computing and share with organisations how EMC can help them embark on their journey to the Cloud, to overcome their IT operational challenges and achieve agility and efficiency."
One of EMC's more recent offerings that will be on show is its VNXe unified storage system, which the company is marketing as an efficient and affordable storage solution for small to medium-sized enterprises. The line incorporates technologies from both EMC's CLARiiON and Celerra ranges. Another product that EMC will be touting in October is its Symmetrix VMAX software, which features a new version of FAST, which automatically optimises where data is located. Should the contingency arise, EMC will as well promote new generations of the company's Isilon network-attached storage hardware and software.
The new hardware will allow businesses to choose from a range of drive configurations, including solid state, SCSI or serial ATA drives, and combine them with quad core processors to accelerate data access.
